How to Get 3 Heat-Free Hairstyles...

Hello! So I have finally managed to write this post but I have been very busy this week and I have just found time to do it and I did promise you I would do normal posts in the middle of the week so here it is! This post is going to be about different ways you can get different hairstyles like curls, waves and volume without having to use heat, it was meant to be because you don't really want to use lots of heat tools on your hair all the time during the summer but now, in England, the weather has got worse and at the moment it is absolutely pouring down!

Before I explain how you can do the first hairstyle, I just want to tell that the reason why I've got pictures I've drawn that are of the different hairstyles because, if you've read my previous posts, you might know I can't put up any pictures of me all over the internet - so I thought this might be a bit different! I also know that there are probably better ways of finding out how to do these hairstyles, like on YouTube, but hopefully you will find it easy to understand what on earth I am going on about! Like I said in the last post, please use your imagination as well!

First up, how to get curls! I think this is the most obvious and easiest heat-free method to get nice curls but I'm still going to include it because I use this the most out of all the ones I know. All you have to do is after you've had a shower and your hair is still damp, plait it and then leave the plaits in overnight.  When it has dried by the morning you can take them out and brush through. I also set it with VO5 High Volume Hairspray.

It's so simple and all you really need are enough hairbands to do the number of plaits that you want! I usually make two plaits on either side of my head because it's easier (and I'm lazy!) and the curls don't come out as small or tight which suits my hair better but you can put in as many as you want. Just remember that the more you put in, the tighter your curls will be.

The next heat-free hairstyle is making your hair have more volume in and I think this is so easy to do! There are two ways that I use to achieve volume. One way is to use the VO5 Plump It Up Volumising Spray. I know that it is meant to be used as kind of like a heat protecting spray that also volumises your hair for when you blow-dry. However when I read what it does on the back, it said that you could spray it in your roots and evenly through your hair then towel dry it normally which gives basically the same effect.

Another way is to spray dry shampoo into the roots of your hair and that gives more of the volumised look. The dry shampoo I have been using recently is the Hazy Days one by Girlz Only which is for during the day (if you didn't know they do dry shampoos for different things). I have to admit this particular one by Girlz Only isn't specifically for volume but after researching a little bit into the different Girlz Only dry shampoos, I have found one called Volume XXL Plus and that sounds like it should be the best one for volume (or you would hope so!) but I haven't actually seen or used it before so I don't know how good it is. If you have it, please tell me what you think about it in the comments, I would love it!

The last hairstyle is beach waves. I love beach waves because they can look like you've just been on a breezy (but not too much!) beach. I also really love this Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray by Toni & Guy. I mean, I even loved it before I tried it out, when I was in the shop and I saw it but I love it even more after using it loads!

All you have to do is have dry hair and you have to spritz it evenly through all the ends of your hair. Then what I do is I scrunch the ends up and leave them scrunched up in my hands for a few seconds so when you let go of the ends, it gives them nice, effortless-looking waves. I also just really love the smell of the spray (that doesn't sound weird at all, does it?!) and it gives the hair a really different texture.

That was all for this post, I hope you liked it, even if it isn't the same as a tutorial on YouTube, but then again I didn't really think these hairstyles needed much explaining if I'm honest with you! Anyway, I'm posting the second Favourite Makeup Look of the Week post over the weekend so hopefully you enjoyed the first. :) Post soon xx

**I got my ears pierced (for the first time) yesterday and I am SO happy because I really wanted to get them done for a while now! I got them done in Claire's and I bought their own Rapid Antimicrobial Activity/ 3 Week After Care Lotion which means that my ears will have healed and I won't have to use the cleanser after just 3 weeks instead of the usual 6 weeks. I've got to clean around the hole 3 times a day which is a bit of a pain but I can manage it! Who else has their ears pierced? Feel free to tell me in the comments section below!**

My favourite makeup look of the week...

Ok, so this is one of six posts that are going to be a little bit different (and much shorter) to the normal posts I do and I'm planning to do them every weekend. Basically, these posts are going to be about my favourite makeup look from  during the week. Of course, I can't actually show you any pictures of my actual face and what the makeup looks like on me but hopefully I am good enough at describing how I put everything on and you have a good imagination! So lets start the first post about my favourite makeup look from this week!

I am not going to go into much detail in later posts about how I put on my foundation, concealer, powder, and eyebrow powder because it mostly stays the same and it will just get boring but if you want to know how I apply my base makeup then feel free to comment below and ask me. I will tell you what the different products are even though I've probably mentioned them all at some point on my blog! (left to right): Work The Colour Eyebrow Kit by Collection, New Skin Revive foundation by Sleek MakeUp, Ideal Flawless CC powder from Avon, and Wake Me Up concealer by Rimmel.

After I have done my basic makeup, I move straight onto my eyes. I usually go for a two-toned eye shadow look and I put the lighter shade all over my eyelid and put a darker shade in the outer corner of my eye and then brush it up into the crease (I hope that description actually makes sense to you!) The two eye shadows I used for this look were Golden Sand (the shimmery gold shade) from the All About The Eyes Palette by Little Mix with Collection and the chocolate-y brown shade (it doesn't have a name, sorry!) from the Colour Works natural palette. Finally, for my eyes, I put on mascara, I know I have mentioned this in two posts and now three posts in a row but I will say what mascara it is again! It's the Does It All Water Proof mascara by Collection.

For my lips, I always put some sort of lip balm on before I put on lip gloss or lipstick so my lips don't feel really dry. This time the lip balm was Chupa Chups (a type of lollypop, in case you didn't know) Lip Smacker and over the top I put on a pastel-y pink Barry M lip gloss, I'm really sorry I don't know what the colour was called or if it even had a name.

That was all for this post but there will be a second one next weekend, I promise! Please comment down below if you do like this sort of post (even if it isn't the same as a video!) I am still doing normal posts but they will be published some point in the middle of the week, I'm not sure but if you keep checking, I'm sure it will be up before the end of the week! Post soon xx

My Latest Beauty Obsessions...

Hi again people! Yes, I am posting a bit sooner than usual because it is the holidays for me now which means I can post more often! There is also another reason why I'm writing a normal post in the middle of the week but you will have to wait until the weekend to find out... ;)

As you can tell from the title, I am finally doing another Beauty Obsessions post! So the first beauty product I want to tell you about is these amazing (no exaggeration!) CC pearls that I got from Avon. They are honestly better than any powder I know of because as soon as you brush it on you can tell the difference from when you didn't have them on to when you did have them on. I have been using them instead of my usual powder. The other great thing is it makes you look more natural because they just enhance and tone your own complexion. The pearls are in different colours so there are green, purple, red, yellow and blue pearls for each of the different tones in your skin to make it look like you have a more even complexion.

Recently, I have got more into Simple because I have heard a lot of good things about it. I already had a travel version of the Simple Kind To Skin Moisturising Facial Wash but I wanted to try a better daily exfoliator and I found this Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash and, as I've mentioned before, I have really annoying oily skin so I found it and I thought I should try it out. Since trying it for a while now, I really think it is much nicer to my skin than the one I was using before and it also makes my face appear less shiny which I like because I hate looking like I'm melting to be honest, haha!

Next up is a new lipstick that I got recently. It is from Avon like the CC pearls and it was from the new range of lipsticks they had (yeah... I forgot the name of the range and I threw away the box it came in so... soz) and it is in the colour Berry Blaze. Thinking about it now, you can't see the colour so I am going to try and describe it to you (be warned I am rubbish at describing!) it is a very deep burgundy but it's more purple than red. Yep... I warned you, I am really bad at describing so you might want to just search it up... hang on, I didn't tell you what range it is... I think it is from Ultra Colour but I'm not sure at all!

The next thing is the mascara I talked about using in my last post. I am absolutely loving it! It's the Does It All Waterproof Mascara and it really does live up to its name as it actually does everything I want a mascara to do but in one. There are five things; it is waterproof, curls, volumises, is long-wearing and conditions your lashes so it is really good.

Next up, is a Sure Long Lasting Protection deodorant! I guess a deodorant is a bit weird to put in a Beauty Obsessions post but I really wanted to tell you about this fragrance in particular because it smells so nice and it is a bit different. It is violet and apple which I've never heard of as a fragrance before but I really like it. And, deodorants are always a must-have so even though I didn't include it in my Summer Tips/Ideas posts, please put some on! ;)

Finally, I have a shower gel from Ashden & Co by Mad Beauty that I got in a shower set for my birthday from one of my friends. It is travel size which is good because I've nearly ran out of my other shower gel and it smells SO NICE! I tried to find the fragrance but all it said was that it was a unisex Ashden fragrance which makes sense because I wondered why it smelt slightly like a mix between an aftershave and a perfume! And yes, I actually like it so you can always be surprised! I honestly love the smell so much that I might have to get more 'unisex' shower gels which sounds very weird!

Anyway, that was all today and I will post something special very soon xx
**Have you heard about Action 1D? They are making videos saying what they want to change in the world (I've only watched Louis' one so far so I need to catch up!) and they are also giving anyone else the chance to make a video saying what you want to change in the world. It sounds like a pretty cool idea to me even if I can't  get involved myself as I can't show my face all over the internet but if you can and you want to, feel free, I mean I've been watching some of the videos by other Directioners.**

My health and beauty tips for the summer... (pt 2)

Yay! It is FINALLY the summer holidays!! Well, at least for my school because we got to leave yesterday but some of the other schools I know are leaving on Wednesday so I guess I got lucky! Also, I don't know when any other countries' schools finish so if you live somewhere else and not the UK, then please comment down below because I would love to know where you come from and when your schools break up for the summer!

Anyway, I had loads more ideas for beauty in the summer so I decided to make another post about them. This is part 2 of my beauty tips for the summer...

This tip is to wear WATERPROOF mascara, or just anything waterproof because the summer is usually when you go down to the beach or swim in the pool. And if you are wearing a really nice mascara or eyeliner and you get splashed with water or you want to swim in the water, you don't want to end up looking like a melting panda (I love pandas but we are humans!). These two mascaras are my favourite mascaras at the moment, the purple one (just the colour of the tube, it is a normal black mascara!) is the Does It All Waterproof Mascara and the pink one is the Volumising Mascara. They are both by Collection.

The next tip is to wear lip balm because when the weather changes (which has happened a lot here in Britain!) your lips can get dry, this is not just when it is cold, it can also happen in the heat. If you didn't know already, my favourite lip balms are from The Body Shop. This lip balm is one of my favourite Born Lippy's, it is called Satsuma Shimmer and it has little specks of shimmer in it and smells so fruity! <3

I love facemasks, but I never find much time to do them unless it is in the holidays so this is my favourite thing to pamper myself with in the summer after a stressful school year. The first facemask is one that I haven't actually tried out yet but I really want to and it looks really good, it is by Quick Fix Facials (who do loads of different types of facemasks) and is the Anti-Blemish Mud Mask for oily and spot prone skin. As soon as I saw this on the shelf, I just knew I wanted to get it because my skin is very oily and spot prone which can be horrible so I really want to see if it works. Also, a bonus is it can do 10 facials!

The other two facemasks aren't necessarily ones that I have used before but I have used a couple of ones from the same place and I love them! They are from Superdrug and the first one is a Fruit Sorbet Antioxidant Peel-Off Mask. Now, I have had a bit of a nightmare with a previous peel-off mask because I ended up having to wash some of it out of my hair with the help of my friend when I was round hers! However I have decided to try it out again. The other one is a Cucumber Cooling Clay Mask which sounded cool (haha, get it?) because I like using other cucumber skin products as they feel nice and refreshing.

I am absolutely obsessed with dry shampoo and there is always a new one that I want to try out but I think that they are especially nice to use in the summer to put some volume and lightness into your hair. They are also meant to refresh your hair without having to use water which is useful, for me anyway, as my hair gets more easily greasy in the summer because the heat makes me sweat (yes, it is normal, as I said in the previous post!) and I have a fringe so it touches my face which makes my hair greasy. I don't know, I kind of researched that bit as I was wondering and I wanted to sound intelligent... but that failed!

I highly recommend these two dry shampoos, the left one is the Pantene Pro-V Dry Shampoo Instant Refresh and I've been using this one a lot recently. The right one is the Girlz Only Haircare Dry Shampoo and there are different colours for different things, this one is for 'Party Nights' but I also have the blue one which is 'Down 'til Dusk' and I have another one which is purple but I can't remember what it is called.

The last tip I have for the summer is to use a weather resistant hairspray because it keeps your hair in whatever style you want for such a long time even in the heat. This one is the VO5 High Volume hairspray and it holds your hair for a whole day and at the end of the day it still brushes out easily which is great because who wants to go through pain before going to bed? It also dries really fast which is good as I hate it when my hair is slightly sticky from hairspray, it doesn't show that you're wearing hairspray and, the reason why I think it is the prefect hairspray for summer, it isn't affected by humidity for 24 hours.

So that was all for my post today but don't worry, I am planning to post much more often during the next 6 weeks because I finally have more time! :) But for today, post soon xx

My health and beauty tips for the summer...

Sorry that I have posted this one a teeny bit late but I suppose it's better than nothing! Anyway, if you live in the UK like me, then you will know that it has actually been hot for the past couple of weeks, even though last week did have some typical rain! But now the sun is back today and I thought that it would be a great opportunity to make a post for my beauty tips for the summer... <3

My first piece of advice for the summer is to get a really good foundation that is long-lasting so it won't come off in the heat and the sweat (yes, sweating is natural!), oil free (this is only if you already have very oily skin, like me, and extra oil in your foundation in the heat does not end well. At least not for me!). And finally, you need a foundation with some sort of SPF in otherwise you could get a very burnt face, especially if you burn easily, which luckily I don't have much of a problem with!

These two foundations have all of those features in so I think they are perfect for summer. The first one is my favourite foundation ever, by Sleek MakeUp and it is called New Skin Revive. It has an SPF 15, which may not seem like much but it is a big difference between one that doesn't have any SPF, it is also oil free and although it doesn't say, I've been using this a lot for school and lasts for the whole day. The second one is by Collection and is called Lasting Perfection. This foundation lasts for at least 16 hours, has an SPF 20 and is also oil free.

This tip kind of links with the first one because if it is really sunny then I will sometimes put a small amount of sun cream underneath my foundation as it gives more protection, it is a good idea if you are outside a lot during the day. Obviously, I will always put sun cream on my body (even though I'm quite lucky as I don't burn) if its sunny anyway but this is something extra. The sun cream that I use is Nivea Sun for Kids because it has SPF 50 and is water resistant as well.

I know I always wear powder on top of my foundation and concealer because I have very oily skin and it sets the makeup but it is very important in the summer as it helps to keep your makeup on for longer and if you're sweating a lot (unfortunately!) it can help control the shine. This powder is from the same Lasting Perfection collection as the Collection foundation in the first tip and it lasts for the same amount of time.

This next tip is about either contouring OR highlighting. The reason why I'm saying only one or the other is because, in reality, you've done all of your usual foundation and concealer and then you're going to add two more products to your face and in this heat, you're face is not going to survive! But then in the summer, I always find that my face turns out looking much less glowing than the rest of my body.

So, for me, I only choose to highlight because I think that it suits my skin tone and face shape better. I use my white eye shadow (yes, eye shadow, it saves money!) by Natural Collection and I tap it on my brow bones, top of my cheek bones, down the middle of my nose and middle of my forehead. However, my friend, who has a naturally more tanned skin tone, uses a bronzer. I would use the bronzer on the under-cheek bones (you will know where they are if you suck in your lips), down the sides of your nose, on the outside of your forehead and on your jaw line. This bronzer is by Colour Couture and is a more natural one, you can get more or less shimmery bronzers but it depends on what look you're going for.

And finally - drink lots of water! It is one of the most important things in the summer and although I'm not usually the best at drinking the amount of water I should do in a day, I am going to try to drink more of it this summer.

That was all for this post, don't worry though, in the summer holidays (in one week!) I will be posting a lot more often! I promise. And I have quite a few fun ideas up my sleeves, but if you have any ideas then feel free to tell me them in the comments. Anyway, what is everyone up to in the holidays? I'm doing a lot of fun stuff, comment what you're doing down below, I'd love to know!
**On Wednesday I got my new glasses and I absolutely love them! Proper geek-chic style. I also got my first ever (prescription) sunglasses! I can't wait to wear them - I might even wear them when I'm having a barbeque later today <3 **
