My 15th birthday (quick post) ...

Hello! I know I haven't posted earlier this week but I am now writing this halfway through the week so I guess it's better than nothing! Anyway, I'm really sorry that this post isn't going to be a proper one but I thought I'd just share with you how my birthday went which was last Monday! :D

These are all of the presents that I got - well, the ones in the left side of the table anyway because the ones on the right are my brother's ones. All of the presents I got were amazing and I got loads of money as well which I'm really happy about!

The cake I got was meant to be like an ice cream sundae which is really cool and it has a piece of chocolate shaped as a jug full of chocolate and is meant to look as if it is gravity-defying (it doesn't but let's go along with it!) with chocolate pouring out of it.

Here's both of our cakes together, he chose a chocolate cake and together, they are the most sickly birthday cakes I've ever eaten! Usually it wouldn't be a bad thing but just after I had my birthday, my throat started being really sore and I haven't had as much appetite for it as I would normally have.(This is the point where you all write in the comments how sympathetic you feel for me, haha!) However I am definitely still up to eating more of it! Yesterday was probably one of the worst days for my throat and I even had a presentation in English so it wasn't exactly the best time to have it but it went well so I guess that's good!

That was all for this post, I will be back to posting longer ones next week but for now... Post soon xx
**Yes, I am aware that my birthday is on the same day as Calum Hood (5SOS) and when I found out I was very pleased to say the least! If you have a favourite celebrity or anyone who you have the same birthday as comment them down below, I'm so interested!**

DIY Bedroom Decor Ideas...

Helloooo! Don't know why I exaggerated that but I did... Anyway! As you can see from the title, this post is about how I made a few things to make my room a bit more unique and Pinterest-y! Hope you like it...

The first DIY I have is this vase of colourful paper flowers! I made these with different colour pipe cleaners, lots of tissue paper (also in different colours) and tape, I used decorative tape but you could use plain tape as well.
  1. I started off by cutting the tissue paper into circles, I made my circles with roughly a diameter of 12 - 13cm but you can make them as big or small as you want.
  2. I then picked the colours I wanted for one flower, I used about 3 - 4 circles of tissue paper to make my flowers. Pile the pieces on top of each other in whatever order you want and fold them in half and then in half again.
  3. Cut the curved edge of the quarter-piece in any way, I cut most of mine in waves or zig-zag pattern. Only cut the curved edge though because otherwise the flower is going to fall apart when you open it back up.
  4. Open it up so all the pieces are in a circular shape again. Then get a pipe cleaner and fold over the tip of it and twist it slightly to make sure the 'knot' is secure.
  5. Thread each of the pieces through the pipe cleaner and stop just at the fold. Tape the pieces onto it so they are secure. Spread the 'petals' out a bit so you can see each individual layer.
Repeat all of these steps to make more flowers and then you can either stick them in a vase like I did, but you could put them in a jar, pencil pot or even just stick them dotted around your room if you want!

The next thing is this inspiration board/picture thing that I decided to make.  I found this one really fun to make and I don't really know why, to be honest! This is probably one of the easiest things to make and you just need the Internet, a printer or you could even write/draw your own but I'm lazy so I didn't!

There's not really any steps to this one, I just went on Pinterest and Google Images, picked the quotes and pictures that were relevant to my life and my goals (new year's resolutions coming in!), printed them off, cut them out and arranged them on the magnet board at the back of my desk. You can put them up anywhere but I decided on my desk because I sit at it a lot and I can see it from basically everywhere in my room.

This DIY is another easy one, it's ribbon bunting. All you need is any ribbon scraps, I doesn't matter if they're different lengths because that's what I did with mine and I think it looks nice that way and a long piece of thread to hang them up. All I did was tie each end of the thread onto where I wanted the bunting to go over (I put them across a corner above my bed) then loop-knotted the ribbons onto it in the order I wanted. That's it really!

The last thing I made was this jar that I decorated and then filled up with ideas of things I could do everyday for either myself or another person. It's quite self-explanatory but I decorated the jar using some pens that can write on things like glass (you can probably get them from any craft shop). Then I filled it up by writing things on coloured card like "Read a book you love" or "Call a friend you haven't seen in a while". I find it so fun to just dip my hand in the jar and pick something out to do every so often! You don't have to fill it up like that though, you could fill it up with sweets, nail polishes or anything you like!

I really liked making this sort of post so if you did any of these DIYs then please tell me in the comments which one you did, I would love to know! I'm planning on doing more of a range of different blog posts so expect some odd posts that aren't just about beauty or shopping (because to be honest that's usually what I write about!)

**My birthday is in less than a week now and I can't wait! Actually... my birthday is going to be on Monday and that's when I usually post now (I know this post is a day late) so I might be able to post that day but it might also be either early or later. We'll see... :D**

Two Mini Shopping Hauls Into One...

Hello! So I went shopping the other week because of the January sales and I also quickly popped into Superdrug yesterday so I thought I would put together all the bits I got into a shopping haul thingy (or whatever you want to call it!) I did only get a few things that I want to show you from each of the shopping hauls, especially from the January sales shop I did because most of what I got was for a later post I'm planning on doing.

Anyway, moving on to the actual post!

This is one of the things I got in the sales shopping trip I did and I am pretty certain that I have been almost living in it since I have got it! It is sooo comfy and cosy, plus it's Disney so I couldn't resist! I have got a couple of Disney tops and a Frozen hoody so I thought I might as well add to my small (at the moment) collection and buy a Mickey Mouse jumper - why ever not!

Then I got these very nice, black lace-up boots that go up just mid-shin on my legs and they are flat heels because I already have high-heeled boots and these were to replace my flat boots that had completely cracked along both soles of the boots. To be honest though, as much as they were extremely comfy, they definitely weren't easy to walk around on smooth surfaces as there was literally no grip whatsoever on the bottom of them so I think it was for the best that they broke!

I also went into Sports Direct to find some new trainers because my other ones are getting quite old and I didn't wear them as much because I started to go off the look of them (OK, not a proper excuse but I wanted new trainers anyway!) These Nike trainers, however, are really cool (in my opinion anyway!) and they have blue material over the top and the laces and the inside of them are green, and those are my favourite colours so I was already sold on that. The style is also really good as well and I think that I could wear these if I decided on going running (probably just walking for me, thanks), obviously not in this weather at the moment because it is so cold and rainy, very rainy (typical British weather basically!)

Lastly for the sales shop, I went into Boots and I got two things. Well I got more than that but the rest was possible birthday presents for friends and I know some of them occasionally look at my blog so I'm not going to show you what I got them in case they are reading this! Anyway, the first thing I got for me was this Pineapple (a dance company) set which included their Dance in the Rain body wash and a skipping rope. I did tell you in the last post I did that one of my new year resolutions was to become fitter/healthier and so far, I have not gone back on my word! And hopefully when the weather gets better I will be able to skip outside to my heart's content - not kidding! The body wash was mainly a bonus that came in the set but I do love the scent of it which is a very refreshing mix of white tea and mint.

In Superdrug I got Tanya Burr's Handy Candy Manicure set and other than the fact it is in one of my favourite YouTuber's cosmetics range, I actually needed a new pair of nail scissors because my other ones broke a while ago now and you never know when you're going to need a pair of nail scissors. As I found out after I broke them!

Moving onto the quick drugstore stop I did yesterday, I actually only went in for concealer and oil-control paper-thingys (will explain in the next picture!) but because it was me in my natural habitat (i.e. makeup and skincare galore), I found a few more things that I just had to get! These Deep Action Pore-Cleansing Nose Strips being one of them!

To be honest though, I think this is what I need
to try out if I want any hope of getting rid of the annoying, tiny blackheads that insist on staying on my nose. Hopefully it will work, or at least get rid of some of them, because I am getting to the stage of wanting to chop off my nose - OK, maybe a slight exaggeration but still! If you have any products you swear by or any methods that work that you've tried on your blackheads please comment them down below, I need to know!

This was actually one of the things I planned to go in for. They are Mattifying Shine Control Papers by the same brand as before, Deep Action, and they are meant to absorb any excess oil on an area that has built up with lots of oil during the day and the thin layer of powder on the paper gives an instant matte finish once you've put it on.

Now, I've only used it properly once, which was at the end of school today and I have to say that it does work pretty well and I was pleased at the result I got as it just takes away all of the shine from the excess oil and I looked in the mirror afterwards and I honestly thought I looked a bit more refreshed. All without having to put on another load of makeup on which can make your face look quite cakey and doesn't let your skin breathe as well. I definitely recommend this - you might even see it in a 'latest beauty obsessions' post in future!

Finally, the last thing I got was this hand and nail cream which is meant to strengthen nails and moisturise hands. I have tried to use this as much as I could within the space of just over 24 hours so I could give you some sort of opinion on this and I am not disappointed! The reason I got this was because some of my nails have started spitting and cracking and they've not been able to grow as well as a result of that. So I thought I would try this to see if it helps my nails a bit more and my hands have been very dry because of the coldness anyway. It has already made my hands feel more moisturised and softer and I can tell it is helping repair my nails and make them stronger. If that's in 24 hours, imagine how effective it could be if I used it often every day! It smells nice too... kind of like a more subtle scent of baby wipes... actually I think that sounds weird!

That's all for today, I hope you liked it! I've been thinking of actually setting a day that I post on my blog and it might end up being a Monday seeing as at the moment that's when I've been publishing them but it's me and I am not organised (even if that is one of my resolutions!) so maybe, maybe not, we'll see. For now though, post soon xx

New Year's Resolutions...

Hello! So, let's start fresh with the weekly blogging shall we? Yes, I know I wasn't the best at keeping up with blog posts last year (which was only 5 days ago) however I am planning on being much better in 2016 (since 4 days ago), I promise! Anyway, back to the post (even though it's not too far off topic for once!) ...

This post is basically going to be all about new year's resolutions and what mine are and how I'm planning on sticking to them *fingers crossed* and hopefully it might give you some ideas. To be honest even if I don't manage to stick to some of these, as long as I'm happy I'm not going to be that bothered and you shouldn't be either. Life isn't meant to be planned out so just take each day as it comes!

1. My first and main resolution is probably to be more confident and I don't mean in general for me, because all of my family and friends would say that I'm pretty confident but I mean more when I'm out and about or even in class (don't say you don't find some teachers at least a little bit scary!) If you're like me and you're one of those people in class who just sit there not saying a word unless you're sitting next to a friend (luckily I am next to a friend in most of my classes), it's especially awkward when you're told to work in a pair or a group of people who you don't hang out with. Believe me, I have been there!

So to start feeling a bit more confident I'm going to actually try and make conversation with the people on my table, people won't think you're as shy or quiet (if you don't want to be that person anymore) and you never know, you might make even more friends as cheesy as it sounds!

2. To become more fit and healthy. Yeah... I'm not the best at that! Saying that, however, I was starting to really try by the end of last year and now I think it's going to be much easier to start exercising and eating healthily more often. The only way you're going to be able to achieve this resolution easily is probably by warming yourself up to it. Take it one step at a time because otherwise you're not going to be able to get used to it properly. I've been trying to include more vegetables in my diet (for someone who used to only eat carrots under protest, I'm doing good!) and eat fruit more often. I also got a smoothie blender/juicer for Christmas which is AMAZING because I love inventing different kinds of smoothies and drinking them so I think that's definitely going to help! I'm also going to try and eat as little sugary food as possible ... I did receive a lot of sweets and chocolate for Christmas so I might just have to eat those before I start doing that part though!

I'm also planning on getting fitter by doing more exercise. I've been trying to fit in 30 mins to an hour most days a week and I've been trying to vary it by maybe one day doing a bit of dancing (most fun workout ever!), another day looking up a workout video on YouTube (highly recommend searching up Danielle Peazer!) or even when the weather is nicer, do some skipping or hula-hooping outside for a bit (in the safety of my garden obvs!) I'm not interested in losing lots of weight, apart from perhaps what I gained as punishment for eating too much DELICIOUS food over Christmas!

3. Be much more organised and tidy. I am literally the worst when it comes to tidying. The mess just starts building up more and more and I honestly don't even know how it gets there sometimes (it's probably the fairies!) I'm an absolute nightmare, no joke! I did have a MASSIVE tidy up of my bedroom and considering the size of it (my room is so small!), it took 2 days to actually clear everything up, I was exhausted by the end of it! However, I do love getting organised, especially when it means lots of pretty notebooks and diaries and calendars. I am in love with my new To Do Diary for 2016 as it has such a cool pattern on and I'm planning on using my organiser that I got last year which isn't for any specific year so I can keep filling that up as well.

Obviously part of the reason why I want to get organised is because of this blog as I really want to keep it up! It's just so fun to do and I really hope you have liked it whether you have read it from the start or only just today! Thank you! <3

I hope you enjoyed this post, I haven't actually done anything like this before but if you all like it (please leave me a comment below) then I would love to do more blog posts more full of writing on certain topics! Post soon xx
**Who else has watched the music video for Jet Black Heart by 5SOS? I think it's been put together so well and it's really good!**
